Mr. Carl Weaver

Carl Weaver, age 69, a longtime resident of Southside, AL, passed away on Monday, March 18, 2024. Graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m., on Thursday, March 21, 2024, at Williams Southside Funeral Home - Memorial Park with Pastor Gary McCurty officiating. He was preceded in death by his Father, John Baker Weaver, brother, John Keith Weaver, Grandparents, Joe Bob and Jackie Weaver, and Stoner and Margaret Walters. Carl is survived by his mother, Vecha Weaver, Sister, Sharon (Rick) Marbut, brother, Mark (Krista) Weaver, special nieces and nephews; Brian (Mariesa) Marbut, Christy (Todd) Goldberg, John Mark Weaver, Hayden Marbut, Cameron Marbut, and Joseph Travis Marbut, uncle, Jerry (Irene) Weaver. With a passion for family, music and travel, Carl lived a life full of adventure and generosity. Amongst his many ventures, Carl owned and operated a successful metal finishing company (Techtrix) for 37 years. He had also owned a record company and a blues bar in downtown Gadsden. Carl was extremely creative and well read. When a problem arose, he never shied away from the challenge. Carl loved to research and find a way to successfully solve any problem. Carl fought against injustice and forged a path to his slice of heaven on top of a mountain, his aptly named Disgraceland Farm. He was truly a larger-than-life figure whose zest for life was only surpassed by his love for his family and friends. He took pride in all their accomplishments, cheering them on when needed and lifting them up when necessary. He spoke of them often with love and concern. In planning for the end, it was important for him to make certain his family would know how much he cared for them after he was gone. He gave from the heart many times but did it privately.
